Who you'll be dealing with
Meet Ryan
I grew up in Eastbourne, spent 13 years working in technology in London, and then came home. These days I live here with my family and our cockapoo, and you'll often find me in the sea or up on the Downs.
I started Sussex Tech Rescue to bring all that experience home, and use it to give people round here patient, practical help with the technology they rely on.
When you ring, you'll speak to me, not a call centre.

More about meWhat I help with
Things people ring me about
These are the things I'm asked about most.
- "My computer has gone really slow"Takes ages to start, freezes, or keeps restarting? I'll find out why and get it running smoothly again.
- "The internet keeps cutting out"Wi-Fi is the wireless internet in your home. If it won't reach upstairs or keeps vanishing, I'll fix it.
- "I've had a scary message or phone call"Worrying pop-up, odd email or a call claiming to be from Microsoft? I'll check everything is safe.
- "The printer won't print"Says it's offline, or the laptop can't find it? I'll get it printing again and show you what to do next time.
- "I can't get iPlayer on the TV"I'll set up iPlayer, Netflix or YouTube on your telly, and explain how the remote works.
- "I've got a new phone and don't know where to start"I'll set it up, move your photos and contacts across, and show you the bits you'll actually use.
- "I've forgotten my password"Locked out of your email, or your Apple or Google account? I'll help you get back in, and keep your passwords safe.
- "I want to video call the grandchildren"FaceTime, WhatsApp or Zoom, set up so you can see the family with one tap.
- "I'm worried about losing my photos"I'll find your photos, keep them safe, and set things up so they're never lost.
Not on the list? Give me a ring anyway. There's a good chance I've seen it before.
Who I help
Help for you, your parents or your business
How it works
Three simple steps
- 1
Give me a ring
Call, send a WhatsApp or fill in the form. Just tell me what's wrong in your own words. No technical terms needed.
- 2
I visit you
I'll agree a time that suits you, often the same day or the next, and come to your home.
- 3
Back to normal
I sort the problem, show you what I did, and leave you a few notes if you'd like. You pay on the day.
"There's no such thing as a silly question."
Lots of people tell me they feel left behind by technology, or they don't like to keep asking the family. That's completely normal. Technology changes quickly, and it can catch anyone out.
I'll go at your pace, explain things as many times as you like, and write down the steps so you can do it yourself next time.
